Advisory · IT and digital transformation

Systems strategy and architecture for ERP, CRM and HRMS, with the build handed over.

Advisers who help you decide which systems the business needs, how they should fit together and in what order to change them. The build itself goes to the Code Colonies technology team.

When clients call us

The moments this practice is for

Most often after a deal, when two companies run different accounting, payroll and sales systems and someone has to choose. Also when a growing business has outgrown spreadsheets and Tally add ons, or is about to sign a large ERP contract and wants a second opinion first.

What we do

Services in IT and digital transformation, scoped in writing.

  1. Digital strategy

A short plan that links systems spending to what the business is trying to do over the next two or three years, and says what can wait.

  2. ERP, CRM and HRMS architecture

Which system is the record for customers, items, employees and money, how data moves between them, and what has to be built or bought.

  3. Systems review after a deal

An inventory of both companies' systems, licences and contracts, and a recommendation on which to keep, which to retire and when.

  4. Vendor selection

Requirements written from how your teams actually work, a shortlist, scripted demos and a plain comparison of cost and fit.

  5. Data and migration planning

What data moves, who cleans it, how it is checked and how personal data in employee and customer records is handled under the DPDP Act, 2023.

  6. Delivery oversight

Once build starts, we review progress against the agreed architecture and specification on your behalf, so the business owner gets a straight answer on status.

How we work

Four steps, written into the scope

  1. Step 1Map what existsSystems, integrations, spreadsheets and the people who depend on them, gathered in a few days of interviews and screen walk throughs.
  2. Step 2Decide the targetA target architecture and a sequenced roadmap, agreed with your finance, sales and HR leads.
  3. Step 3Specify the workA signed specification for each piece of build or integration, saying what done means and how it will be tested.
  4. Step 4Hand over the buildThe Code Colonies technology team builds on 2good terms: INR 199 or USD 2 an hour, a 150 hour minimum, no advance, and you pay after you accept the work.

An example

Two plants, two accounting systems, one company

After the Gujarat packaging maker buys its Nashik rival, the Ahmedabad plant runs a mid sized ERP and Nashik runs Tally with spreadsheets for production. We would map both, agree which system holds item masters, customer credit limits and payroll, and set the order of change around the integration plan's Day One and hundred day milestones. Each piece of migration and integration work would be written up as a signed specification and handed to the Code Colonies technology team to build.

Illustrative example. Screens and data are samples.

What you receive4 items

Questions

About IT and digital transformation advisory

Why does this practice hand the build to another team?

The decisions need a small, senior team; the build needs engineers. So the build goes to the Code Colonies technology team (codecolonies.com), and we check their work against the specification as we would any other vendor's.

Can we use our own vendor for the build?

Yes. The architecture and specifications are yours, and any competent vendor can build from them.

How is the advisory part bought?

Usually under O2E, against a signed specification for the strategy and architecture work, on the same acceptance terms as the build. For longer programmes an FDE adviser can sit with your team. Details are at codecolonies.com/engagement-models.
